Prince of Peace Pre-School Staff



Director - Debra Nobes has been the director of Prince of Peace Pre-school since 2000.  She previously taught 4 year-old classes at the pre-school for 9 years, and her own children “graduated” from Prince of Peace in 1986 and 1988.  Debra has a Master’s in Education and was recently awarded the Connecticut Director’s Credential from Charter Oak State College.  “At Prince of Peace we believe in providing an enriching environment and collaborating with families to ensure that our students feel secure and happy as they develop a positive self concept on their journey to lifelong learning.”

Assistant Director - Barbara Yates has been the assistant director of Prince of Peace Pre-School since 2000.  She began at Prince of Peace in 1986 as a teacher of both 3’s and 4’s.  She holds an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Barbara works closely with families of children with allergies, to develop an Individual Plan of Care, to assure all children are safe in our school environment.

Music - Lauren Matte, the music teacher at Prince of Peace has been on staff since 1986.  She holds a B.S degree in Music Education.  The music program incorporates movement, dance, nursery rhymes and the famous “Prince of Peace All Saints Rhythm and Instrument Band” into the curriculum.

The teachers at Prince of Peace Pre-School are dedicated to providing a warm, caring and accepting environment for the children and their families.  Our teachers hold degrees in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Special Education.  The highly qualified staff annually completes continuing education hours in current topics and trends in early childhood education.  All staff members are trained in Infant and Child CPR, First Aid, and Administration of Medication which exceeds the requirements set forth in the regulations for early childhood programs by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
